The Phaze API is designed for customers, partners, and developers to create new experiences powered by Phaze’s ultra-low latency remote access technologies. Phaze is built with one goal - when someone connects to a workstation, they should feel like they’re there. On top of that, Phaze has an enterprise admin system that helps companies manage their worksations like infrastructure and give employees access to the workstations when they need it.
Automate management - a Slackbot
Companies can use the Phaze API to automate all of the management required. For example, a customer could create a Slackbot that responds to a slash command when an employee requests a computer. The bot would assign a machine, make sure the machine is in the right relay location, and then share a link to connect to that machine. Since Phaze does not charge a license per seat, companies do not have to worry about the cost of getting another seat for that person. They’re only charged for the time that the person uses the machine.
Create new features - schedule access
Workstations should never sit idle. They’re one of the most expensive pieces of infrastructure a company has, and they’re only getting more expensive. We think the days of buying one workstation per person for peak demand are over. Companies should be thinking about their workstation utilization rates. While we haven’t built a check-out and check-in system on our dashboard, customers can build that today. Again, imagine the Slackbot system. An employee can request checking out a machine that they are assigned. Once the machine is checked out, they will see it in Phaze and be able to connect to it. When they’re done working on the machine, they can tell the bot that they’re done, and release the hardware to the pool. The Phaze APIs can be used to build this, and this works because Phaze supports Windows user switching at the Windows login screen.
Build your own app - manage infrastructure for customers
Desktops-as-a-service is an efficient way to manage infrastructure, and there are companies with the workstation hardware available to rent. Those companies can integrate Phaze inside their applications with the Phaze API and Phaze protocol handler. For example, a company can provide full IT management of infrastructure hosted in their datacenter and an application that users log into to request machines. The user can either see a list of machines they have access to or request access. The Phaze API supports the listing of machines and assignment of machines. Phaze can return the machine IDs, so the third-party application can generate a successful connection to a machine that a user has been assigned.
